Digital Collections - How Much Information Is Contained in a Collection Object? (Dec 14, 2026)

How Much Information Is Contained in a Collection Object?

On December 14, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Rosensäle, the Digital Academy at the University of Jena invites you to the second event in the “Digital Collections” series: “How Much Information Is Contained in a Collection Object?”

Using the Haussknecht Herbarium as an example, this event explores digital methods for documenting and analysing collection objects. The digital part of the event is presented by the Senckenberg Institute and demonstrates how modern data analysis methods can reveal new information and open up new ways of researching and using collections.

The event series invites participants to explore the University of Jena’s diverse collections, discover new digital possibilities, and collaboratively develop perspectives for their future use.
