Digital Science Support Needs in Lower Saxony

Digital methods and technologies are applied across many academic disciplines, from the humanities and social sciences, to natural and life sciences, engineering and technology, agricultural, medical and health sciences. The project Digital Science Support Space Lower Saxony (DS³, ds3-nds.de) develops support measures for different digital research activities, technologies and methods, and provides them to universities and colleges in Lower Saxony. The project focuses on three areas:

  1. Software development and Research Software Engineering
  2. High-Performance Computing
  3. Application of Artificial Intelligence

It also addresses further topics in research digitalization, including institution-specific requirements informed by the extensive domain knowledge of individual institutions.

In order to efficiently develop and provide support measures that meet your needs, we need to identify these needs, and understand which digital research methods and technologies you work with, and which of them you plan to work with in the future.

Welcome!

Thank you for participating!

This survey aims to identify the digital research support needs of students, researchers, and staff at universities and colleges in Lower Saxony. Your input will help us identify your current attitudes, challenges and priorities in conducting research digitally. The results will help us the develop support services, training, tools and infrastructure related to digital research methods, tools, data management, software, and other research-related technologies, that best suit your needs.

Participation is voluntary and takes approximately 5–20 minutes. You may stop the survey at any time. Please answer as openly and accurately as possible.

It is not possible to identify individuals from the collected data. The collected raw data will not be shared with anyone outside of the DS³ team at Technische Universität Braunschweig's University Library. Summaries of results will be shared only with DS³ teams at institutions that are part of the project (see the list of partners on the DS³ website). For further details, see the privacy information for this survey below.

Thank you for contributing to the improvement of digital research support in Lower Saxony!
